Anyone walking into my chat with Zion I at this stage might think we had gotten off on the wrong foot. In fact I’ve just hit off the Oaklanders who gave us the “Deep Water Slang” album in ’98 with some UK slang, a copy of Viz’s ‘Profanisaurus’ as an early Xmas gift. On a cold December afternoon Zion I, along with crooner Holiday and their UK spar TY, dropped by Jamm in Brixton in advance of their support slot that night for Ill Bill. It’s 3pm and they haven’t eaten yet but my insistence on them looking up the definition of a ‘Docker’s Omelette’ has put them off food long enough for us to reason for an hour or so.
